WE’RE BACK! And here we go!
I’m really excited about some of the stuff we’ve cooked up for you in this special story. Being a prequel, it won’t answer many of your questions about the main plot, but we let our imaginations go wild with the characters and world we’ve created – sort of like writing a canon fanfic! – and it’s going to be a ton of fun.
However, we couldn’t think of a cool title that was relevant to its actual plot; everything was too corny. So Chapter Zero it is. But I’m sure you can guess a few things from this title page! I guess this’ll be the cover of the book(let) when we publish this, but it’s subject to reworking.
We’re going to link back to this page in the future so that new readers can start here if they want, so soon you’ll find these artist’s comments replaced with a description friendly to visitors. And if you’ve been gone for a while and don’t know what’s going on, click here!

OH GOSH another friend pointed out the eyes immediately too…
I’ve gotten some critiques before that my pupils were too tiny (um, the pupils on my characters that is) so now they’re getting BIG OL’ BANJO-KAZOOIE EYES. I just needed an excuse, like this new story, to suddenly change how I was drawing them. I think they’re all just a little cuter…! (Except for Derk and the Lurkins. Sorry guys.)
To be honest, I kinda like the old eyes better. It felt more like something I would doodle while day-dreaming.
I will experiment. I changed after getting some critique before, so if people don’t like the new style, I can go back. Luckily it’s a very easy thing to change.
Also their eyes probably won’t be so *sparkly* all the time, that was just a thing I did for the title page and might still edit out…

I was more enticed about how chipper Skärva looks in this picture. I mean really, he just looks so darn cheerful. Maybe it is the eyes… The irises do make it look different, if not better.
Also, I made a little something something for Victor. He is so quiet lately… His name keeps popping up, though. I am sure he exists in more than memory and the comic.

Kidding aside, the hype train has just had a head on collision with epic station! The inferno is visible across town. We have yet to hear the official number of the deceased from emergency services.

Noooo I specifically try to avoid the ‘tude XD Sometimes it creeps in though. Darn movie advertising affecting my subconscious. At least he doesn’t have one (/two?) eyebrow(s) down and the other(s) raised (see: http://lackadaisy.foxprints.com/exhibit.php?exhibitid=333) and his arms crossed in a sassy pose.
Skarva seems younger…. maybe it’s the eyes. I think I can adjust to the new big eye thing, although I prefer the other style. But either way it’s still great!
Technically he is younger! Although not enough to really matter.

It’s all the more fun when you consider that if Blank is a baby, Skärva was totally like ten years old.
That is too adorable, though. Little child Skärva getting mad when Blank cries and making him cry more! My heart is a puddle.
Blank wailing and a helpless, confused Skärva screaming “SHUT UP” at a baby again and again.
So, essentially, not a whole lot has changed?

Oh yeah, Shark Week. I don’t really get excited about it anymore since Discovery started trying to cash in on people’s disproportionate fear of the fascinating creatures. We need to take back our Shark Week! Maybe with the help of Bane.

Heh I was thinking maybe your pupils were too small, but now I think they were something that gave a special charm to your style. I think the super sparkly eyes is the only weird thing about this new style, but otherwise everything looks great and I look forward to seeing this comic!
