It only hurts a little bit

The rest of Chapter Zero is written and we’ll be back to our normal schedule in finishing it off! This counts for our Wednesday update, but I was impatient and wanted to start off the new year with a new comic. (Plus I needed to take the Lightfest decorations down.) So the next update will be Friday, and then the next Wednesday and Friday and so on until we’re done. Then we might take a little break before returning to the main story, but hopefully not!
Finally, if you want to support the comic and check out all the bonus sketches I’ve been doing over the past few months…
I was heavily dedicated to another pursuit in 2016 (theatre) but 2017 is a year in which I resolve to focus heavily on my one true creative love again- this comic. I look forward to you it, and to you joining us for the ride! We have some stuff planned in the main story I’ve been looking forward to for YEARS, and I can’t wait to draw the end of this arc as well!

But Skaerva… Honestly I’m enjoying the dynamics, and the insight this all gives into his character. Looking back a bit, it puts things in perspective, and I think that’s one of the neat things about rereading a work in progress.
Even the creators learn things about the characters, when a story is told this slowly! Me and Victor were struggling with how to end this battle, and then he hit upon this as something Skärva would do. And I wouldn’t have thought of it, but… yeah, he would.
And now Skärva continues the fight? Next form, giant blood blast attacks!
He’s a bloodbender! Of his own blood! A risky move, but there’s always so much of it just lying around…
It’s kinda sad they continue to be enimies after this. But like Kaede said, it does give a new twist to the previous(?) chapters.
Wow, Skarva did a legit murder stroke and “killed” Blaud! (For those who don’t know, murder stroke is a technique where you grab your sword by the blade and hit your opponent with the hilt. I’m legitimately serious, this is a thing)
A little bit more practice and he probably won’t even cut himself doing it!
Blank’s sword is so huge though, it’d be really hard to grab. That blacksmith thought of everything…
Oh, damn, Bladud got Told (at least until he re-coalesces in a couple years free of the stone)!
But, uhhh, Skaerva? You might have got a little Blank in you.
Ew, gross, how do you cure that? Is there some kind of juice cleanse? Does it just have to work itself out?
