We’re back!
Sorry it took a bit longer than expected to get back on our feet. This page was something special for both of us to figure out, but moreover, a lot has happened since our last update a couple months ago, both on a personal scale and a larger one. We hope our comic brings you happiness. …Just maybe not this page. But in general.
SO CLOSE TO BEING DONE WITH THIS ARC I CAN ALMOST TASTE IT
Also, happy Normafest!! We’re thankful for you readers this year and every year.
I’m more than thankful for the both of you, and everything you do!
No one has ever thought of using a sword against a hero before this? Any reason for that? It’s kind of neat, actually…
Well, no one has succeeded, at least. Fighting fire with fire, when one of those fires is fueled by the gods, seems kind of foolish. Only our Sharkboy is crazy enough to try it. The difference here is that Bladud is extremely powerful AND uncursed so he can actually gain an advantage. The gods can work through tripping up the cursed in addition to helping the blessed.
As I’m reading this I’m finding myself wondering things like, what sort of thing did Blank actually want to do with his life before he was blessed by the gods? What did he have to give up on when he found out? When he did, was he old enough to have even thought about those kinds of questions yet?
I can’t help but feel like Skärva’s current quest to defeat the gods truly is for the greater good, and he doesn’t even realize it.
Yeah this makes me feel sorry for Blank, the gods just string him along, essentially as an unpaid improv actor.
There’s a first time for everything!
I’m almost feeling sorry for Blank here.
Almost.
Happiness? From this comic? All the Time!
It’s really touching to see Skärva defend his territory like this. Someday, sharkboy that determination will pay off.
Indeed, what could be more jolly than Blank getting rekt?
Hehe. “Step off, Bladud! No one’s allowed to mess this guy up except me!”
Blank running off into the sunset crying for his parents?
I don’t really hold any dislike for Blank. I mean, he’s basically Link, but with some actual character development, and I like Link, so Blank must be better. It’s just that there’s something oddly. . . humorous about it.
I also get a kick that you actually raise the question: By what merit do these heroes win?
Woah… all I have to say is this is intense! Definitely worth the wait! Almost as violent as when you play Pikmin 2 (I only saw like 30 seconds of that, but you were already resetting from too many deaths, and that’s pretty much how you play Pikmin 2 anyways. It’s violent).
Ohoooh yes! Skarva is a smart one. He knows Beehive Barriers are the BEST barriers!
#TVTropesFTW
Oh, sweet you guys are back!
This is a pretty intense page.
I hope he’s got some spare healing items in those bottles he brought along…. Poor Blank
I… I have mixed emotions. like my morality says I should pity blank, but… he’s a dick. I hold no pity for dicks. but I do hope that scarva beats old floaty blade blodud or whatever the flish his name is. although I feel like blank should have remembered this when he said to derk and Lorelei, “and tell scarva when he wakes up that next time I won’t be playing around.”
I truly feel that if scarva were slain by blank… blank wouldn’t be hailed as a hero. he would be condemned as a murderer. and then the papers would go on about the loss in jobs everywhere, and then we would have ghost scarva who would do who knows what with his afterlife. probably try and avoid his father. and grandfather.
this does beg the question. if the original cause of the curse was the actions of the first scarva… where is his ghost? what is his personality… IS HE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR WITH THE GODS!? oh my god. imagine the plot twist. the original scarva was one of the great and powerful mages who sealed the doorway. or, was the cause of the doorway needing to be sealed. he walked through, but his transgression upon the gods caused the curse. or he actually used his new godhood to curse his family…. he could be a giant douche. we really have no idea. but at the same time… scarva isn’t quite as evil as he wants us to think….
poor scarva… I hope he gets a happy ending.
still shipping princess and scarva a little.
FOR GOD SAKES SCARVA KEEPS A ROOM FOR HER PERMANENTLY. I’m surprised he hasn’t sent a missive to the castle asking her the size of her clothes about a week in advance so anything he has for her their can be tailored properly. but then again that would be too sweet of a gesture huh?
:l
Hey! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the comic. I’ve been having a pretty rough week, the final one of rehearsals for the play I’m directing – it’s mentally and emotionally exhausting – and you really brightened things up! It’s always so nice to see someone going through the archives and leaving their thoughts.
I’m really enjoying these theories, and the shipping, although I won’t give canonical word on anything I do think you’ll be happy with where the story goes eventually. We’ve got big plans.
what. ooooooo… i like that emote. it holds such promise. :3
