Opening weekend of the play was lovely! Thanks for all the well-wishes.
Now, me and Victor think Valentine’s Day is silly, but I do love me some cheesey cards with terrible puns and stuff, so be sure to come back to the site Thursday- I’ll have a special surprise for you! In the meantime, enjoy the banner!

YAY BANNER! That is beautiful, both in art and just in general. I always love annoyed/disgusted/infuriated Skaerva faces; I’ve never seen a character so fun to see unhappy. Lorelei’s face is funny too. And poor Princess . . . poor Blank.

I’m loving Lorelei’s expressions lately…
I assume that Lorelei is sticking her tongue out at Blank in the banner? It’s really kind of cool how she has a grudge against him for beating up Skarva…Even though she knows Skarva is the Bad Guy(tm), he’s still…you know…Skarva to her, (I hesitate to say a father figure – that I’m not entirely sure of…), and she hates it when he’s hurt. It’s so…lovably human.
She and Skärva are both supposed to be disgusted at the silly heart logo, but you’re spot on about her feelings towards Blank, so feel free to interpret it that way.
Father figure? Well… sort of, but not a very good one! Their relationship is hard to put into a box. Especially since she ends up taking care of HIM a good amount of the time…
…speaking of being human, perhaps this has been brought up before, but, uh, how exactly do those in Skarva line reproduce? I was under the impression that it was only the direct Skarva line that was cursed to be sharkmen (or whatever :P), so unless my knowledge of biology is whack…
Also, something that I’m nearly certain that *has* been brought up before…when will we get to see Skarva’s mother!?
Well Barty, I’ve been putting this off, but I suppose you’re old enough now. You see, when a sharkman and a woman, any woman, love each other very much, she will discover that he is quite human from the neck down, minus the unusual skin color and lack of body hair. And then, um… “magic” happens
And my eternal answer is: eventually, jeez!
We can’t front-end all these awesome things you guys are looking forward to… the story is just getting started, you know!

So, sarcasm and general snarkiness notwithstanding :P…being a sharkman is more like an ethnicity difference than an entire species change? I guess that makes sense…sort of…maybe…
I keep wondering on the KIND of women who end up with these guys. I mean, they’re supposed to be the evilest, scariest beings in the world. Either these women are saints who saw past the frightening exterior to the wounded souls inside, or they’re femme fatals and devils in blue dresses who live for the danger and evil and maybe even money.
. . . Or, they’re naive. Or maybe even a combo of all the above; that would be interesting, lol.
…or maybe they’re completely normal and just happened to be wooed by the Skarvas’ devilish looks :D. It’ll be interesting to find out!
I mean, judging by some comments we’ve gotten, it isn’t all *that* hard to fall in love with them
Something like that, although the curse regenerates itself anew every generation and overrides the non-cursed traits… so unlike, say, if a man and woman of two different skin colors had a child it might look somewhere in the middle, if Skärva were to marry a completely human woman, their offspring wouldn’t have any less of the pointy face or ears or the purple eyes.
They still think of themselves as humans, albeit accursed ones, since that’s what they originally were, and it’s better than saying they’re something new that’s completely alone in the world. It gets a little tricky when you call them sharkmen; “men with the appearance of sharks” would perhaps be a bit more appropriate… but not as fun to say.
Another thing. Is this line cursed to have nothing but sons too, if only to perpetuate this weirdness? Four generations and no daughters is getting suspicious.
. . . Unless . . . someone DID have a daughter . . . does Skaerva have an aunt we don’t know about?

Perhaps. No one knows if the gods intended that, or if it’s just a coincidence. The Second only had a chance to have one child, and the Third and his Lady only desired one, so… there really haven’t been ALL that many test cases. Weirder things have happened! But most people believe the gods want to make sure the curse stays with the name, though… which a woman could escape, but not a man.

Oh gosh, it’s really difficult to explain! It’s called Arcadia, and it’s about an aristocratic family on their country estate in the early 1800s, and their ancestors and a couple of researchers in the modern era who are trying to find out what went on there. The scenes jump back and forth between the two time periods. It explores academia from literature to math, and love, and lust, and death, and the Romantic period, and the inevitability of chaos and disorder, and the nature of human discoveries and advancement, and… and so much. It’s really funny, and also really REALLY sad (at least it is for me, having come to know and love the characters)…
It’s an amazing play. I’ve been honored to be a part of it.
Wow, I’m going to have to look this play up; I LOVE mysteries, comedies, and two-timeline confusions.
Fun fact: I realized recently that one of the characters is quite similar to the Second. I want to talk about why but I don’t want to spoil anything. XD
Yay, we’re gonna get to see the Second again! My day is made.

Y’know, I had a dream about these guys last night.
Skarva and Lorelei were grocery shopping. They were looking for some plant but all of the plants at the store had withered for some reason. And nobody was reacting to Skarva with abject horror, so that’s good Customer Service right there.
That was their backup plan to get the Lii Flower, had the minions failed.
This isn’t even the first time you’ve dreamed about them! Yay for worming our way into people’s subconsciouses.
Floyd was in one of my dreams recently, but I don’t remember what was going on…
