Well, not really. But I have a big plastic costume sword that inspired it… except it’s way too evil-looking

And you have to wait patiently to meet the others… just as I have to wait before I can introduce you to them ;_; (I LOVE THE SECOND SO MUCH)
And life really can screw you over, huh? Hence why I so rarely get to draw extra art outside of the comic, and why we’re sometimes late. But a life is a nice thing to have.

Does that happen to be the sword that inspired Blank’s sword?
Yep! I carry it around with me for the pirate costume I wear on Halloween and to the Renaissance Fair(s). The sword may be plastic but I LOVE IT to pieces. It is meant to be an evil sword, though, there’s some kind of freaky skull on the guard.

Oh, that piece of crap? He fell apart… HIS LEGS KEPT COMING OUT and he was molting like crazy. His name is Screech and I forget where he lives now, but possibly a trash can.

Well, Link is nice. Link is very nice. But I like Victor how he is. ^_^
Yeah, the costume is nothing extravagant but it serves me well enough. Some day if I have more money I might go all-out, but then again the fun of renaissance fairs is looking at all the OTHER people, so I don’t really care

Pretty much, except he got over Skyrim (I would too after killing 90% of the people in the land). Now it’s Tribes: Ascend.
Also, a real sword would be cool but I’m just so goshdarn fond of that plastic one.
Maybe if I could find a big curved cutlass-type real sword like Blank has, I would replace it.
Killing large amounts of people would ruin things for me too.

(The first does his hair like me) Yes and you ALWAYS forget to put my MY hair back to normal! (Sorry I think that hairstyle looks better on you) Well screw what you think what about what I think? (So your half insane) Ok let me explain my theory about insanity for a second, thought of it this morning while waiting for my bus I have finals this last week of school FUN. Anyways people who are considered insane might not even be it their minds just might have connected to alternate realities letting them think and see things most of us cannot understand. However because of this they cannot tell us what they are seeing,hearing, thinking ect. So we consider them insane because of it. (I’m the spawn of a half connection if you will) and WHY couldn’t I get one that was closer to my actual personality? (Well what fun would that be?) Tons considering I wouldn’t have to deal with crap like this. (Too bad I’m here to stay) Anyways I just hope the ghost of Skarva the first doesn’t come after me. (I hope he does) Dear god.

For some reason the Second’s (the one in yellow) hair and wide eyes make me feel like he’s either going to be insane, or not so evil, or… something.
Also, the First (dark purple) looks like he’s going to be epically evil… Maybe I just like how his ponytail, demon-horn-looking ear, and villainous scowl all mix together… I guess I’ll just have to wait and find out…
I’m working on a fan art of the Fourth… I’ll try to be careful with your brainchild…
That was what I was thinking about the Second, he looks like a lunatic. Kind of. Judging by the position, size and proportion of a white ellipsoid to black silhouette of a shark-man. Oh yeah, and the hair.

He does look more angular here… I was trying to stylize the ancestors as much as possible, since I was working only with silhouettes after all. I guess it’s him when he was younger; as he got older and… dead, he softened out a bit.

So I am a very infrequent commenter, even though I’ve been reading for awhile. But anyway. Congratulations on making it for one full year! I read a LOT of webcomics… well over 60, at this point (I just looked and counted. I scare myself sometimes). So when I say the Fourth is among my favorites, I think it means something. You guys also do an awesome job with being “professional” about this… you manage to consistently update not just one but three times a week (which a lot of other webcomics fails to do), you have a quality story, interesting characters, and a unique artstyle that’s perfect for the story.
Keep up the good work! (Also, if you guys ever want to do a kickstarter or something and start putting your work in print, I would totally buy a copy. Juuust saying.)

Yeah, maybe, someday. I don’t think the earliest pages should ever appear in print anywhere, but, we’ll see. I was really herp-a-derp back then and had no idea how to do things, so I’d have to find some way to get the early comics into a higher resolution. I’d rather mass-produce and sell Davis plushies (man, that will probably never happen BUT I CAN DREAM)

I remember, I started reading this webcomic a couple of pages after they met Lorelei. That seems so long ago now!
They don’t always share Skaerva’s confidence in himself.

That WAS a long time ago. Last summer seems ages away! I’ve grown up a little, I guess!
Is it just me, or is Lorelei the only one that is reasonably frightened by all the craziness that’s going on around them? Also, what’s that a map of in the background anyway? Is it just a random dungeon that Skaerva used?
Derk is at least wary. Veronika is too Veronika to care. And Ecta is like “Why in Idenau are we behind some kind of giant map? Hello? Does ANYONE else think this is strange?! BOYS!”
Yeah, it’s just supposed to be generic, but it doesn’t look very exciting so maybe it’s the Temple of Terror. They had a lot of maps lying around, after all.
Wow. The shading/lighting on this one is absolutely gorgeous. Particularly on Skarva and Lorelei. Lorelei’s eyelid is also a special touch.
More glimpses at the First and Second! Wee! We’ve only had those semi-pictures of them and that one statue. The Second, in particular, seems like he’d been an interesting character…
Speaking of the Skarva line, when are we going to see Skarva’s mom/grandma?

Yeah, I’ve enjoyed dropping very tiny tiny little glimpses of them, but incomplete or blocked off as much as possible. We just don’t want to give you too much of a view without actually being able to see them in action. All of that in good time! We have other characters to get to as well…
Hmm, Skaerva’s grandma (at least paternally), well, let’s not talk about HER. As for his mom I plan on having her show up at some point, maybe in flashbacks… she IS important for certain reasons… but that’ll be somewhere way down the line. This is weird but I totally love Skaerva’s mom, vague-ish concept though she still is. Cause she married a shark-man and had a little shark bebeh and loved them all the same. SOMEONE needed to.

The Fourth has high hopes for the future; I almost can’t wait for the updates! Also, I like Skärva’s pose, he seems so sure of himself.
That’s probably my favorite part about his character, that hope which springs eternal.
Sure he may get beaten time and time again, but he never gives up nor bows down to a fatalistic acceptance like his father. It may be foolishness but it’s somehow admirable.
I just have to say, as a lurker but also a long time reader, I love how much effort you put into this wonderful webcomic, I’ve always enjoyed webcomics but this one is special. Keep up the good work!
