Sorry about the lateness. Full disclosure, things haven’t been great for me physically or mentally the past few weeks, but I’m working through it. (It’ll pass, don’t worry!)
Skarva asking what he should do actually seemed out of character. I actually saw it going something like:
Goldgills: Sharkman, you can do (something helpful).
Skarva: Don’t tell me what to do, Lizard!
Goldgills: Fine, I’m sure the Kraken will keep you company standing around.
Skarva: I do what I want, and I’m going to (the same helpful thing).
Goldgills: Suit yourself.
(Derk and Lorelei giggling in the background)
Yeah, but that was actually the point. To show him being at a loss for once and tentatively seeking the captain’s help… and getting what he’s earned for being so dismissive of the pirates this whole time. He’s always so abrasive and controlling but he does have his moments of doubt and uncertainty now and then- you’ve seen that when he loses to Blank but I feel we haven’t explored that in a while. And remember he has no magic; he feels quite powerless right now.
I’ve been lurking around for a while because I haven’t been so well either. I blame Eva therapy; sorry. –But I really hope you get to feeling better soon! That’s far more important!
I can’t remember a panel where Skärvs has EVER looked so confused. This is a fun change.
Whoa, seems like forever since I’ve commented haha
But it was totally worth it for Skarva’s luscious mane of hair (when’s the last time he had a haircut, anyway? ;D ) and his confused face. He is so unused to not being useful. Lorelei’s face is absolutely adorable. I love your style.
I hope your life gets all the way better soon! Don’t worry about updating the comic until you’re all better, we can wait!
I seriously love how much depth you put into all of your characters, they’re all so beautiful!!!
… Goldgills is right.
Skarva should grab a tentacle, put those teeth to use, and chow down.
Then magic to kill squid.
Then eat more squid.
It’s a vicious cycle.
Tentacles, mate, tentacles everywhere.
And you just know that kraken is gonna try to get handsy with the boat they’re floating on.
It’s like he’s offering a free calamari dinner.
…
Now I’M hungry…

Awwwww, that hand-holding adorable! Nervous-dad mode: activated!
Please apply water to the burned area
You know what they say Skarva, when in doubt: water dungeon… It’s up to you to figure out how to make that work
Yarg!
Go Goldgills!
Ye be having squid fer supper tonight!

…That’s actually brilliant. Which begs the question: could he just eat any random passerby?
Please, humans taste disgusting and are incredibly high in cholesterol. As for the “eat the squid” plan, he needs to get close to it first…
