You know, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a villain actually proud of his minions. Normally the minions are bumbling fools. This is quite refreshing.
Is Slice squeezing Davis?
Yeah, a lot of times the failure of villainy in a comical story can be attributed to the bad guys, from the workaday minion to the big boss, just being idiots. But it’s an important part of The Fourth that Skärva is competent and very smart and hardworking and, by and large, his minions are resourceful and flexible and know what they’re doing too. They lose because THE GODS. Because DESTINY. No matter how hard they try. Will this time be different…?
Of course, he’s excited that he gets to live with his new friend :3
Playing Majora’s Mask a few weeks ago, I was marveling at how divergent in themes Majora’s Mask was to Ocarina of Time. Ocarina of Time was all about fulfilling your destiny. However, in Majora’s Mask, Termina was destined to be destroyed, and it was up to you to screw destiny and save everybody.
The Third accepted his apparent destiny and made a successful business out of it. The Fourth refuses to. Where will that lead him in the end?

I love everyone in that panel. Floyd is so Floyd. Skärva is so sleepy. Slice is sweet and Davis could get used to being appreciated for once. And I love Ecta’s “Ugh, kill me now… oh wait” face.

Yeah, Skärva knows that Davis must have done a good job indeed if the worst Livingston can say about him was that he didn’t really cause any problems.
Aww, it’s nothin’. It’s just a combination of finding the right brushes and the right filters. I’ve finally found something that works for the castle. It makes a big difference.

You know, I get the feeling that Skärva is one of the few people that Ecta actually likes or looks up to, which is interesting, and a good piece of character for her, I feel. ^_^

Well of course – you wouldn’t have the decorators in while you were -in- the office if you knew that you were going to be out for a while, now would you?
In all seriousness, I like the texture – it makes the walls and floor feel a little more solid, it seems to me. ^_^

Well, he can’t have spent more than ten minutes escorting the princess to her room. They must have been magic ninja decorators, appearing to blast some texture into the walls and then vanishing.
Yeah, I think the visual interest it adds is immense. It leaves the comic feeling like a more finished whole. I feel less like I have to fill blank space with random tapestries and such now because they’re not walking around in some purple void. …Not that I shouldn’t add background details. ^_^;

On somewhat of a tangent, I’ve been using dull colors on them because it was night time for so long. It’s really nice to see them all be bright again.
