The silent comic

Slice is still hooked.
…Were you expecting an encyclopedia entry today? We’re not done with them, but we’ll be taking a break for a while, as there’s not much else we can write about without giving away plot points and history stuff that we’d rather reveal in the actual comic.
Davis is…devilishly handsome.
Originally he was talking to himself about how big his horns were, but then I decided this comic was more interesting without words.
Yean. I noticed that he was the only one with a reflection…a matter of perspective, I assume.
YEEEEEAAAAAHHH!!!!!
i think davis is rather cute. and i need to hug him. also the recaptcha is the worst thing ever, there are far better ways to prevent spam

You can register there, if you so wish. You wouldn’t have to do captchas anymore, (although, you do sometimes have to re-login…).
Well, I hardly think it’s the worst thing ever
And its senseless ravings have brought smiles to many of our commenters. But yes, do get an account if it annoys you!
And about Davis, yes. Yes. One of these days I’m going to learn how to sew better, just so I can make a plushie of him.
I would buy that! And I would hug him all the time.
I sympathize with Ecta but I also empathize with the minions. Except Davis. Minions have a day off and there’s still some being forced to work? Boo. Coworkers slacking off while I’m actually working? Bigger boo.
Poor, poor Floyd…
It’s not fair…
I just realized Davis is the only one with a reflection. I know it’s part of the joke, but still…
It’s because Floyd and Slice are VAMPIRES!
No, but really, they are just so pressed-up against the windows that you can’t see their reflections. I mean, I guess you should be able to see a bit of Slice’s, at least, but… I needed to get to sleep >_>
Lurkin Beach Volleyball! $30! (With five $10 DLC packs)
Unlock the fabled Floyd-in-a-speedo. Or buy it for a hundred dollars.
I was woried you would break the family friendly rule in the last panel.
“Hooked” you say? I see what you did there.
I was almost dissapointed there wasn’t an encyclopedia, then the reflection joke with Davis made everything alright. Seriously though, no good will come of Ecta making them work on a day off.
Davis and I would really get along.
Also, is Ecta just a natural workaholic or does she have some kind of motive for working overtime?
Because you both love Davis?
Both… she’s always been a hard worker, but she has a certain passion for the family she works for, and also – as we’ve seen – death often seems to make people even more obsessive and eccentric.
Partially because we both love Davis and partially because I like looking at my reflection. I’m not vain or anything; it’s fun to just study yourself.
awww… poor Floyd I think he deserves some time off.
I think all of them do but Floyd was the first one that i saw.
Don’t feel bad for Davis, he gets to torment Ecta all day. It’s probably what he’d want to be doing regardless.
Favorite character choosing!
Skarva, of course. I have always had a soft spot for villains, regardless of whether I actually SHOULD in the context of the story or not. And giving me a reason to sympathize only makes things better. … or worse. I dunno, I just like the bad guys more.
Besides, he has a fun design. Especially the eyebrows quirk and his pointy shark-face.
I can’t pick a favorite, really, but I loved Skärva before any of the rest of them. He’s the one who made everything else happen, after all!
i have to PICK A FAVORITE? ;.;
Skarva is a bebby, plain and simple. I wanna hug him and smoosh his face. ;0;
Well, I can’t argue with that!
either derk for his brillante charecter subversion or skarva because hes awseome
Skarva. Who else? He’s an intelligent (but stubborn) overlord, and a powerful sorcerer of dark magic, not to mention shark-man. Something else, though, that I kinda like is that when he’s done scheming. There’s just something about how he and Lorelei get along when nothing much is happening. Sure, he belittles her when they’re out, but he’s just stressed out about his plotting and stuff.
Floyd seems like the only normal guy in a group of crazy. I like him.
Of course you know i love all your characters, and i cant say anything negative about anyone. having said that, here are some highlights:
Slice has always been a character i looked forward to seeing. he’s so positive (though this page is a bad example of this) and sweet. i love his coloring and design, his big ol’ eyes make him look so cute!
i also love Davis for his attitude and style, also he was fun to draw when i did the ‘1 year’ thing.
Dirk is adorable in his own way, standing behind Skarva no matter what and that kind of loyalty and friendship is amazing in its own right.
but my favorite? Ecta. she is a tough girl. she has already gone through life, which i think we can all agree is hard enough, and she has died. DIED people! and she’s still got fire in her veins, figuratively speaking. she’s still giving 110% to her job, she still takes it seriously and still looks for the approval of the boss. sure she may be a little angry, a little rough (ok- maybe more than a little), but she’s got a softer side, and she has feelings that can get hurt. (see the page with her roommates talking about her) this adds depth and vulnerability to an already wonderful character, making this ghost seem very human. that is what i love about Ecta Livingston.
Agggh I am SO happy to hear that. I love Ecta to pieces, and you’ve already picked up on some of the reasons why. Eventually she’s going to get even more of a chance to shine… I have many ideas for her in the later stages of the overall story – of course, that won’t be for a long time yet, but I think about it a lot.
i am so happy to hear that, ill keep on reading and i look forward to Ecta developments in the future!
i think Floyd is my favorite because he’s just so carefree and funny; and plus in a way he reminds me of myself.
This just might be my favorite strip yet.
(I became behind on reading, but I always love catching up!
Yay! You’re in for a treat because the art is gonna get a lot better!
