Skarva seems to be doing well, so naturally he’s going to trip over his cape directly onto Blank’s sword since outlandinshly bad luck seems to be the main reason he never wins…
More like Blank being supernaturally favored, able to use items and powers that Skarvs cannot, etc. But still, Edna Mode would recommend he ditch the cape.
An acrobatic villain is a long-living one! Always have the escape route ready to be parkour’d.
The arc in which Skærva becomes a master swordsman with a magical shark sword to challenge Blank in martial combat as well as overshadowing him with powerful magics?
That Shoryuken knocked the stripes right off that sword. Pretty cool.
Destroying all the hero’s items; a very effective and uncommon final boss strategy?
He’s exhausted? Wait, this is a prequel, did you know? Davis doesn’t even work here yet.
However, it’s possible that this is actually just a stack of demons in a Skärva suit, the bottom one being on stilts, much like the mini-boss of the Temple of Terror.
To give new readers a place to start while still showcasing the newest art style. The stories aren’t exactly going to stop happening, there’s no real reason NOT to do it now.
It’s also worth noting that the quest for the keys to find the gods, and the ramifications that are going to result from that, are the entire rest of The Fourth’s story, not just one story that we’re deciding to randomly interrupt. The end of the pirate arc was as good a place as any that we’re ever going to have to take a break and do a prequel. We’re also probably going to remove these pages from the middle of the story archive once it’s done and make them available as a separate pdf.
Just starting the battle and already getting cocky. Not a good sign there, Skärva.
Let him have his moment!

I’m looking forward to Skærva using his Sword.
Shoryuken!
Incoming boomerang; final boss in the non-attacking floating stage.
Sloooow down bucko! He doesn’t have a sword yet!
How do you know he’s floating? He could be pirouetting. http://sharkman-land.tumblr.com/post/90561397983/day-3-or-is-it-4-now-subject-still-refuses-to He practices a lot.
Oh noooo, cover art, thou hast misled me!

Oh wow! How did that even happen with the sword?! Fixed it, thanks.
Seeing as Skärva is exhausted and trying to lay low, I think it’s Davis in a disguise.

Floating bosses were always my favorite, even if it’s just a first form. There’s something oddly lulling about them. Keep on floatin’, sharkboy.
BLANK’S TOO SLOW
No Skarva, don’t taunt until you have at least one Stock on him!
I notice Skarva has a black eye and Blank is missing a tooth. Side by side, you really do get the impression they’re angry children.
Are you implying they’re not? (physically no, but mentally…)
Exactly.
It’s nice reading this with the proper music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKjEwQeGAEU
I really like the coloring here; loving the contrast!
I 100% thought that was going to be Sonic music because of the title.
Crap, he’s gonna get it.
It’s really nice to see Skearva be so cocky and confident and Bad A! I’m sure it’ll change soon, but stilll.
Yeah. We haven’t really seen him like this against Blank, huh? I guess his expectations became a little more realistic…
I’m wondering why you decided to do a prequel in the middle of another story??

http://thefourthcomic.com/?p=1904 I hope this helps explain our motives!
